Advice for Long Term Unemployed

Being unemployed for a long time may not be a problem to a few number of privilege people. But we have to face that reality that there are more people who are under privileged compared to the lucky ones. Thousands of people graduate every year, earn a degree and pursue a career yet based on several statistics made every year there is as always a big portion of newly certified jobless people.

Landing in a good job is hard and business is simply not that easy to start with for most because they do not even have the capital to start with. These are one of the good reasons why there are several people who do not have a job and has been job less for a long time.

It is understandable not to have a job at some point in time. However, not having a career or rather a work for a very long time is a problem especially if one does not belong to a very well off family. In fact, even people who belongs to the high society make the most of their time earning more money and building their name and stability in the society.

Not having a career does not only make a person having a dull, unproductive life but it also makes the lives of the people around that one being hard and irritating. It is expected that when a person graduates he will already going to start building a life for him and help other people through his expertise.

Make a Goal

Instead of counting goats leaping on the hedge so to cross on the other side of the hearth or watching television surfing from one channel to another it is better for you to start knowing what you really want to do with your life.

Know what you want, when do you want to get it and more importantly know how to get it. This stage is in fact more like knowing who your enemy is so that you can make a battle plan to win the war. Life is a war and enjoying it is up to you.

Get a Good Mentor

Learning things will be easier when you have someone to teach you. We all had someone to teach us since day one to learn the things that we need to learn so to survive in the society that we belong.

Most people who have been spending their lives in an idle mode for a long time tend to shun someone else's comments with regard to what they are doing. It is best to listen when you are in this kind of situation.

Criticism are there so for you to realize and learn. And of course if you already know what you really want to do and get in your life span it is a good move to talk and learn from someone credible the tricks of the trade.

Set a Routine

Setting a routine does not mean you just have to live by what you are used in doing as a couch potato. Setting a routine is planning and doing things that you are not used to do as a change will may mean well for yourself and your career.

For instance, instead of waking up late you wake up early and start exercising. Instead of watching too much television you get yourself in front of the computer and start looking for a job on line.

Build and Expand your Network

Connections they say is the real treasure one can get according to the old people in the society. This belief is true enough because in the business world "it is who you know" that is working at most.

Connections can give you access in a certain place for a lesser or free amount. The person that you know depicts who you are as a person and how influential you really are.

Have a Temporary Work

For some people the reason why they are still jobless is because the work that they wish to get is just so competitive for requiring a very high standard. Try to break the ice from all the glory of wasting your time and get a job even though it is just for the mean time.

In this way you are earning and is actually adding more rainbow colors in your resume as you are having a job experience. Not to mention, you will not longer be a burden to the family.
