Working Out in Your Office Cubicle
Posted in Health & Safety
You are at work, spending nine hours, sometimes even more, seated in your own little world called the office cubicle. The flab is showing, you are becoming sluggish in your job, and coffee is not working anymore.
Here are some simple exercises you can do while seated at the office chair:
Shoulder rolls. Roll your shoulders forward in a circle. Do up to eight counts. Then reverse the direction with the same number of reps.
Neck rolls. Tilt your head to the left. Hold for eight seconds then gently roll your head to the other side, holding for another eight.
Torso stretches. Join your fingers together then stretch them upwards over your head. Breath deeply while stretching, then exhale as you open your arms motioning them downwards.
Wrist stretches. Stretch one arm out and turn the hand down to have the fingers point towards the floor. Use the other hand to gently pull the fingers towards you. Hold this for eight seconds. Do the same thing for the other hand.
Spinal twist. With the feet flat on the floor, gently twist the torso towards one side. Hold for eight counts and do the same on the other side.
