How To Get Promoted

Every one desires to be promoted from the entry-level status that they hold to a position with a much higher-paying salary, one which has more opportunities to grow as a professional and one in which they will be able to use their skills to their advantage. We all would like to influence people but the workplace is not the playing field for it to be practiced on. What people are looking for right now is trust.

The strategy of people winning the trust of other members of the company and other peers is no the way they talk to others but how well they are able to prove themselves as trustworthiness given the ultimate premium among people who want to be promoted. A particular national survey found out that the employees at the workplace are not looking for casual fun and friends in the workplace. What these people actually need is trust.

The CEO of a human resources consulting firm, Terry Bacon, remarked that the survey took the responses of more than 500 employees which worked from across different value chains and employee departments that were present in the company. The ability of a person to be trustworthy and honest as well as the ability collaborate were the top attitudes that were being searched for by other members of the companies. These traits were among the ones that employers are looking for.

In a survey, Lore International was able to gather that companionship and friendship were not at the top of the list that people were looking for in their co-workers. The company's survey was only able to find 18% who wanted these two things from their co-workers. Apparently, there is something greater that the co-workers want.

Terry Bacon remarks, "If you want to get ahead, you must be willing to do great work." This should be demonstrated along with the trustworthiness of a good team player. It should be remembered that being a good teammate means that other people can trust you to do your job well and to also help them do their job well, whatever the task may entail from you.

The survey that was given by Lore International was given to more than 500 employees whose industries varied greatly from each person. It was a survey which looked to vary the sample population.

Terry Bacon says that if one wants to be able to be promoted, he or she should be able to do it as a team player. The values of honesty and transparency should be present in a worker who wants to excel and be promoted. The demand for yourself should always be kept at a high level because that is the only way that you will be promoted. But one thing that should be remembered while doing this is that one should go about creating that demand in a way that people will see as collaborative.

Bacon says that people who do not go effectively further their career are those people who do not have good interpersonal skills.
