An honest self-assessment can help you determine which aspects of the work you would still need to develop and improve in order to increase your chances of being promoted by virtue of your qualifications.

This would mean taking an active role during discussions and offering your own points of view on certain topics. It is not mainly talking for the sake of being noticed but also to offer your own ideas and how it may be able to help. This would usually require reviewing the meeting agenda and preparing your points beforehand.
