Common Job Hunting Mistakes
Posted in Job Search Advice
On the part of job recruiters, their experiences have armed them with the right tools to determine who may be the right people for the right jobs. They have also seen that a lot of job seekers tend to make the same mistakes over and over again. These are the following mistakes that most job seekers commit from the point of view of the recruiters.
Being Too Perfect
Many recruiters are wary of job seekers who may look too "perfect" in their job resume. Most recruiters would easily think of it as a case of too much sensationalism or even downright lying. Many job seekers armed with perfect resumes can sometimes be perceived as people who may not see what else they need to improve when it comes to work. Some may see it as insecurity where the job applicants may not be too keen on admitting or accepting their own shortcomings. Having a too perfect job resume can sometimes work against the job seeker.
Doing Too Little Research
Many recruiters are also irritated to have job seekers looking for a job who don't have any idea what the job opening is for. It can be a big mistake for a job hunter to come face to face with a job recruiter without ever knowing the position being applied for. All it would take is a bit of research on the job position as well as a bit of the company background for job seekers to avoid this costly job hunting mistake.
Being Too Generic
One of the most common mistakes that job hunters make is by becoming too generic with their approach. Many job hunters try to mass produce their job resumes and pass it on to as many companies as possible, neglecting to cite specific ways how the job seeker may be able to help each company. Although a generic job resume and job hunting approach may be a more convenient means to look for jobs, it can also allow job seekers from missing out on many wonderful job opportunities.
