A basic skills job resume is another type of the many job resumes that a job applicant may prepare. Understanding what the different types of job resumes are out there would help job hunters prepare the right type of resume that would effectively highlight their strengths. Even having a basic skills job resume would work wonders as long as it fits right into a person's good qualities.

A basics skills job resume works well for those applicants who may not have the best credentials for the job. This may be especially true for new graduates or those with limited work experiences. In the case of a basic skills resume, it allows job applicants to highlight important scholastic achievements and other strengths to good effect without putting emphasis on a limited work experience.

The basic skills resume also works best when it is used to apply for a certain job where a referral from an organization is available. The referral may help give credence to the job resume entries and help employers consider a potential candidate from his or her capabilities instead of previous work experiences. The basic skills resume would also work best when trying to network for a similar job. It would not work well when used as a primary job resume for personal meet-ups and for answering job ads.

The basic skills resume is easily recognized based on its structure and contents. Most entries are usually composed of the job applicant's skills and capabilities. It usually does not contain a section for work experiences and is largely about a description of the various skills of the applicant. Educational background may also be included in the basic skills resume along with awards and recognition received as added highlights. It is important to add in a reference section since it may lend credibility that most employers or companies would look for in such a kind of job resume.
