Writing a Retirement Letter

You have reached the highs and lows of your career, and now you felt that it is time for you to retire from your company and enjoy the life that you have often missed because of work. If you have decided to retire, even before your organization's retirement age, you need to write a letter addressed to your CEO and carbon copied to a human resources officer as well as other people whom you are required to send such letter.
The following is a sample of a Retirement Letter:

Dear Mr./ Ms. (last name of recipient):
I would like to inform you that I am retiring from my positing as a/ an (your job title) with (organization name) effective September 18, 2008 (or one month after this letter is sent).
Thank you for the opportunities for professional and personal development that you have provided me over the years. I have enjoyed working for this company and appreciate the support provided to me during my tenure with the organization.
While I look forward to enjoying my retirement, I will miss working for the company. If I can be of any assistance during the transition, please let me know.
