Business Casual Tips For Summer
Posted in Workplace Advice
Summer is not just something that tourists on vacation welcome. Summer is also eagerly awaited by those who work and wish to get rid of those heavy coats and sweaters for a change. Summer is a time for lighter clothing to take the stage. And in the workplace, nothing is more than welcome.
The recommended summer outfit at the office would be casual. But since it is still in the office setting, some sense of formality should still be considered. But different offices may allow different levels of suitable casual dressing. This is something that you should first know about before trying to plan what to wear at the office during the summer. Some offices are pretty conservative when it comes to business outfits while some may be open to allow casual dressing when going to work.
Even if your company doesn't have a written dress code doesn't mean that you can wear just about anything during the summer. You also have to consider some things for that. If your job requires you to project a certain image, then you can let that determine what and what would be appropriate summer casual outfits that you can wear at the office. If you also have to deal with customers all of the time, then it might be better if you present yourself in a more appropriate business attire that can also be ideal for the summer months.
Bright and cheery colors usually reign over summer outfits. It is the time of the season when some color would bring life to your office wardrobe and it would be okay. Drab and dull clothing should be placed inside the cabinet for the meantime. For women, it would be a good time to bring out their sexy (but acceptable) outfits at the workplace. Some lacy and white ensembles would do quite well for the summer.
When summer comes, some offices usually do try to simmer down on their dress code a bit. If the boss would allow it, you may want to consider wearing open toed shoes or sandals to the office. But if you are going to keep those toes exposed, make sure that you keep your feet clean and nicely pedicured in order to complement your whole casual attire.
Conservative looking polo shirts as well as t-shirts might be a good and comfortable attire to wear at the office. When choosing shirts for the office, make sure that you wear those that are not to tight or with excessive designs so as not to look too unusual.
